GODDESS WORSHIP
Goddess worship predates all forms of anthropomorphic (human-oriented) worship, and originated in ancient Africa before spreading as humans migrated from Africa.
Ancient Kemetic paintings and French cave paintings, for example, are said to be many thousands of years old, and depicts a matriarchal world. Dependent upon bountiful harvests, successful hunts, rain, and offspring to carry on the traditions of the tribe, the earliest human cultures viewed the woman/goddess as the life-affirming force of fertility.
Seen as feminine, the earth and nature was often seen as a goddess, honored, and called upon for help and blessings alike. Throughout time, archaeologists have unearthed thousands of goddess statues that seem to suggest a strong reliance upon and reverence for one or more feminine deities in the ancient world.
What are your thoughts on goddess worship?
Given the current patriarchal religions, do you believe goddess worship could ever rebound to its former glory?
